Late Night Homework

Another late night of homework.....it was chemistry.....it was NOT fun......but we had some giggles while utilizing Google.  Ty is looking forward to football season being done and not having to stay up late after game night doing all of his homework.  These moments remind me that the day is getting closer when i won't have a child with me on the couch or lounging across my bed or sitting at the kitchen table working on homework..... yes, i am going to miss this.....

Marine Wife Pantry

Looking quickly into this pantry you would find nothing amiss......welllllll.....other than it being a mess!  But!  Upon closer examination there is proof, once again, that a Marine lives here!

Yep!  The rubber bands around a can of veggies, or sometimes fruit!  Anything that will shape the Marine's cover just right!  I am almost done with my picture book that shows how you can tell if a Marine lives in the house!

Walked By At The Wrong Time....

I love that Ed knows how to change the oil in our vehicles and can do it without me trying to figure out when i can get them in in between my work schedule and all the kids practices here there and everywhere!  Ty was outside when Ed was pulling the jeep into the grass and Ed said, "Ty, it's time for you to learn how to do this, you will be glad later..."  Ty grumbled and was not even remotly excited about leaving his friends to go climb under the Micromachine.  But, too bad, Dad had spoken... By the time they were done though, Ty thought it was pretty cool, especially on how he would have more money in his pocket for doing something simple and not forking the dough over to someone else.

Time to change the oil in the Micromachine.  I love that Ed wears the jammers i buy him!

Ty walked by at the wrong time...

Ed telling him the what's, where's, how's and why's....no who's?

Ty getting ready to do his thing....

loosening it.....

undoing it.....

Finally!  The oil starts to drain out!

He is just growing up sooo fast!

Is Okinawa Home?

Being in the military i am regularly asked where am i from....this has always been a very difficult question to answer. I was born at Camp Pendleton, was stationed there twice with my Dad and have done 3 duty stations there with Ed, so i have basically refered to um a Marine Base as home...is that normal? Okay, i walked into that one, i know, nothing with me is normal...sooo i have been busy with all the "now ya know where you are goin' makin my lists and stuff groove" and i was thinking, Wow! This is the longest place i have EVER lived in my life!!! I've never had an address, phone number, even an e-mail for this long of a time!! Five years had been my record, once at 537 San Remo St Fairfield, California 94533 & once in Fallbrook while we were stationed at Camp Pendleton, i think my address way back then was 508 Teran Dr Fallbrook Ca 92028...? I wonder if that is correct...i think it is.....that was back in 1978 to early 80's. How do i remember these things but can't remember what i went upstairs for!!! UHHGG!!! Sooo, i wonder.....does this mean i now call Okinawa home?

Sushi Anyone?

I came home one night and noticed that my fish were kinda not swimming right, most nose diving and surfacing....as i got closer to the tank, i put my hands on the glass and realized it was hot! My heater thing had broken and my fish were boiling! I started putting ice cubes in the tank and sent the kids off to neighbors for more ice. We weren't fast enough and all died but Elecra and Little Blue. One of my neighbors found humor in our sadness and asked us if we were having everyone over for sushi. Love my friends! They can always bring a smile to my face!
