22B Sat Empty!

I picked a perfect window seat!!! Nobody ever chose 22B! The middle seat sat empty from Texas to DC! Nice not being squished for the last flight! I actually read the whole time!!! Kinda feels like a vacation now!!!

Sunrise at 37,000 Feet

Well, one thing with a 6 am flight, you get to watch the sun rise from 37,000 feet! I am exhausted already! But off for a fun adventure with The Dude In Cammies for a week in Quantico!

Easy Check In

I love how easy it is to check in when flying now!!! No more printing the boarding pass, just bring it up on your phone!!!

73* Today! In January!

Finally!!! We had a beautiful warm sunny day! AND no wind!!! Loved going to work with no jacket! Sadly it was a random warm day for January. It is going right back to cold for the next 10 days, but I TOTALLY loved today!

A Very Sad Day

This just hurts my heart....deeply....I was so hoping for survivors to be found...training is dangerous but still always catches us by surprise when accidents happen...and breaks our hearts....

Apparently this, of all my pictures on Facebook, is the most viewed right now! I found that hilarious! I also find the number of views quite suspicious!!! But than any of the quiz things on facebook or up for question!

Stable Cats

There are a couple wild cats at the stables....I've yet to see any rodents so they must do a good job. This one was busy posing for me today in various areas. She's quite the cat!

But finally came down and let me give her some cuddles. She's such a sweetie!

Jasper Sleeps Happy With Me

Jasper misses his master like crazy whenever he is gone but he sure does love being able to sleep in my bed with me! Bella isn't a fan of sharing the bed with him....but too bad, I LOVE having Jasper up on the bed with me!!!

Goodbye Uncle Stanley

Today my uncle Stanley was laid to rest next to my aunt Dean....always sad to say goodbye to family but happy that he is free of cancer and with my sweet aunt Dean again....it was also wonderful to see family, some cousins I haven't seen in decades!!! My cousin Stacey brought her dads ashes from ND so now the grave site can be complete. I wish we would have taken pictures with everyone that was there! I didn't think of it soon enough....

But I did think to have Kim take a quick picture of my brother Monte, sister Mary, and my dad!!! In the sadness it was still a great day.

Winter Hits Quantico!

This picture just made me laugh.....it fit perfect for Ed's flight changes.

The Dude In Cammies was supposed to fly out January 23rd for Quantico....but a giant winter storm swooped down on the east coast! By Saturday morning where he was flying into already had 19" of snow and snow still falling! Needless to say his flight was cancelled. Soooo, we left Sunday morning for his rerouted flight. He was flying to Dallas, Tx and staying the night there and than Monday morning continuing on to DC.

There was no traffic and we made it to Ontario in about an hour and a half.

I left him at Ontario at 11 am....

A quick hug goodbye and a picture and than he was off to check in and I was off to drive up to Northern California for a funeral. While I was driving north he called to let me know his flight had changed again! He was headed to Az and than on to stay the night in Detroit! He called later from Arizona to let me know he was broken on the runway. At 10:30 pm he called to let me know he had arrived in Detroit, 1:30 am local time and that he had a 6am flight so he was just staying at the airport.....I got a text Monday later in the morning that he had made it to DC, got his rental car and was at his hotel room! Yay! He made it, finally!!!!

First Snow On Okinawa. EVER!

Wow!!! It FINALLY rained on a cold day!!! There were many times in the middle of winter it was cold enough to snow but there just wasn't any moisture coming from the sky! We would always joke about it being cold enough to snow during the dead of winter but it never did the 6 years we were there! But it FINALLY happened! How fun!

It's A Double Boot Duty Station

I think this might be the only duty station in The Dude In Cammies entire career where he keeps cowboy boots in his office! Yes, it will be a sad day when I no longer see these boots in future offices and an even sadder day when he no longer rides horses during the work day.....but for now I will just enjoy seeing those boots sitting in the corner when I drop by.

Red Velvet And Cinnamon Bun Oreos?!

I was walking down the cookie aisle when I saw these two new Oreo cookie flavors.....no surprise, I bought them....and yes they are pretty good! That was yesterday. I still have not told anyone in the house about these and each package is only missing one cookie! I might tell them tonight....might....

Someone Got A Hair, Oooops, I Mean Mane Cut!

It took a little bit this morning before I realized something was off on Cho! Like LITERALLY off! It was his mane! Someone has given him a mane cut! He kept his cute bangs but the rest has been clipped to be like a high and tight going down his neck! It looks cute and fun but at the same time he is a WILD mustang so I kinda like how their manes flow wildly in the wind when they run or how they just blow in the wind....but Cho wears it well and the old man looks a bit younger and fiercer with it!

When I went to run my fingers threw his mane I noticed it was spikier, went to the other side and saw there was no hair over there!!! I love how he is sticking out his tongue!

A Chilly Saturday Morning At The Stables

It's always fun spending time with these guys....Norman, Dean, Aires, and Sonny are on the road right now, I think in Florida....so 6 are left back.

Ford is getting a workout today. He's doing awesome in his training! Can't wait to see his first event!

Make Believing We Are On A Warm Beach

I couldn't get any good pictures because my arms just aren't long enough and Ed was busy putting saddles and stuff away...BUT something totally amazing happened!!! John was laying down and he actually let me sit next to him and use his neck as a pillow! He was soo sweet! When I first met these beautiful guys they would immediately jump up if I was a good 25 yards away than they got to wear they wouldn't get up until I opened a gate and later they just would stay laying down as long as I kept a few feet away....so, either John was just too tired to care or he has finally accepted me into his sleeping space!

John was still sitting when I came into the pen and approached him.

I sat down a little bit away from him....

I slowly scooted towards him chit chatting the whole time

He began nuzzling me when I got close enough

And than he let me lean on his neck. The sun was brutal and I didn't have my sunglasses so just closed my eyes and had some nice peaceful relaxing moments with John in the dirt. I told him we were pretending to be laying on the warm sands of a beautiful beach....

After I got up he proceeded to stretch out and was snoring!!! 

Doritos & Blue Eyes

Leah can ALWAYS tell when a bag of chips is opened. She is a complete Dorritos junkie. I think those chips are her favorite food! The Cool Ranch flavor. And than she just pants, drools, and states at you with those beautiful blue eyes! Yes, I gave her a few chips. How can you say no to that face?!!!

And than there is me....i can never say no to her.....

Doggie Bath Day!

Jasper and Bella had baths today...what a workout!!! No pictures of Jasper but here is one for Vicki of her Bells after her bath. She really HATES having a bath!! I gave her LOTS of snuggles while she grumbled quite emphatically!

Phone Call Expressions

The Dude In Cammies called me and asked me to come by his work so he could finish up some paperwork for me....this is pretty normal for him on the phone at work....

What Is That Sound?

I heard this funny noise on the roof of my car....what could that be? It sounds like...like rain? It is! It is rain and LOTS of it!!! Always nice getting rain in the desert and especially during this drought! The outside lanes were already flooded and one stop light out as I made my way home.

My scarf became my umbrella while I ran errands. It was quite the life saver!

Aside from the wind it was a gorgeous day for hiking!!!

Made it down those steep set of rocks behind me. Always easier going up than coming down!!!

There were a LOT of great grip rocks climbing up this! Quite the workout though!!!
