Sleep In Sunday

Sometimes, well a LOT of the times, I just have to make the bed right over Jasper! This is a typical morning trying to make my bed.....and than i take a picture to show Ed that i wasn't ignoring his side of the bed!!!!

Jasper just stayed put while i pulled the covers over him

He popped his head up when i threw the covers over his head!

Than he gave me pouty face

Soon he was right back to snoring!!!

Jasper On The Lookout....and Pouting

Ed has been gone a few days now....it's a double edge sword for Jasper. He misses his papa dreadfully but also LOVES sleeping up on the bed with me!


Here is his pouty face laying on his papas side of the bed....


And here he is staring out the window with a perfect view of his papas truck coming down our street....ya just can't tell me animals don't miss their humans when they are gone!!!!

Spoiled Jasper

Jasper is such a family dog and totally spoiled!!! He hates to be alone!!! He spends a lot of time with Ryan. Ryan just wishes he had a bigger bed!

Jasper Waits...Until He Forgets

Every time Ed walks out the door Jasper just plops down at the door and stares....I guess just waiting for him to walk back thru!!! He stays there for a pretty long time, well until something distracts him! Than he is up and on his way to whatever has caught his attention!

Morning Beach Walk

The dogs seemed to really like their walk on the beach this morning at potty time. I think Leah is especially happy with this cool 61* weather!!! The squirrels seemed to keep their distance from the dogs!






Found a lone crawdad crawling on the beach. The dogs were not interested at all.

Swimming Is Exhausting

After Jasper had his swim I shampooed and dried him and than he crashed! I guess swimming can really wipe an old guy out! Would LOVE to know what he is dreaming about right now! He looks so peaceful and fulfilled!!! Hmmmmm, I wonder if he'll be starving when he wakes up!!!

Jasper Goes Swimming

Jasper has always loved the water. When we were Okinawa he would go straight into the ocean and usually come back with a big piece of driftwood. We always wondered where he would find the things he would bring back. This morning Ed had Jasper down on the edge of an old amtrack ramp on the water. A bird landed in the water.....before anyone could say or do anything Jasper had launched into the water after the bird. The bird was faster but Jasper was thrilled to be in the water.

We got his tennis ball and he was in heaven swimming out to get it and bringing it back!!! Ed has swum in these very waters back when i first met him when he was with tracks. Now Jasper has swum in these waters to! Jasper hasn't gone swimming since dog beach at Camp Lejeune on NC.






He had the sweetest puppy face. Jasper has added another ocean to his bucket list! He has swum in the East China Sea, the Atlantic Ocean, and now the Pacific Ocean!

We Are On The Road!

Ed had hoped to be on the road between 9:30 and 10 this morning, and we were off by 10 am! The skies were a beautiful blue and the white fluffy clouds were perfectly placed! It was a gorgeous day in the desert!

I had Bella in my car with Ty and Ed had Ryan in the front seat of the jeep with him and Leah and Jasper in the backseat. Leah immediately let us all know she was not happy with a car ride!



Of course Jasper thought the whole back seat was for him so Leah just squished her hiney in the corner and sat there with the funniest faces!









I wonder if she is having flashbacks to her ride to the airport almost 2 years ago to come out here from NC?!!! She is NOT a fan of flying!!! We waved goodbye to Taylor and Jennifer and we were off! The ride went fine. Bella thought she should sit in my lap the whole time! Crazy girl! I put her bed in the front seat so she could just lay down and relax the whole drive, but nope, she would have none of that! She preferred to be a stress ball the whole time reminding me every minute or so how not happy she was about being in a moving car!!!












It was funny at stop lights pulling up side by side and rolling down the windows so the dogs could see each other. I really wish i knew what went on inside of their heads!!! Their facial expressions are hilarious!!!






Going thru the gate was too funny! Bella had to say hi to the gate guard, lucky for her he likes dogs and lucky for me she didn't growl at the Marine!!!



When we arrived at Camp Pendleton Leah had managed to shed about half of her coat in the jeep as well as leave about a gallon of slobber everywhere! We went straight to housing.  While Ed went in, the boys and i took the dogs out to go potty! We survived the shortest PCS EVER with furry kids!!!   

Yay For Big Bathrooms

Good thing we have a big bathroom! These dogs always want to hang out with me every morning while i get ready. I chit chat with them while i get ready. Gonna miss these big ole dogs when they are gone someday..... 

Scaredy Cats

Jasper and Leah crack me up! They act all tough until the vacuum cleaner comes on and than they are total scaredy cats! They run up the stairs and watch from the safety of the landing while Bella barks her head off and attacks the vacuum cleaner. These pictures show them perfectly during vacuum time.

Doggie Sun Bathers

Jasper and Bella love to sit in the warmth of the sun. The way our yard is situated the shade comes in quick so these two sit together in their favorite spot. I thought I should get a picture of these two sun bathing.


Do to severe drought conditions the grass has been long gone!!!

Sad Jasper Face

Jasper gets so sad that he can't get up on the couch like Bella. I honestly think he has no clue that it has to do with his SIZE!!! Tonight he plopped down in dismay on one of the couch pillows. He clearly wears his feelings on his face and he definitely made sure to let us know how rejected he was feeling!!! I don't think that dog could hide how he felt if his life depended on it!!! But boy do we love him!!! Even when he's pouting!

Exhausted Jasper

The boys had been wrestling and Jasper had gotten all excited, concerned, etc so afterwards he was all out breath and exhausted from taking all sides! He is sooo funny! He slowly climbed up on the couch to see if anyone was going to say anything. When all was silent he plopped down and happily enjoyed Ryan's lap!

Jasper Sleeps Happy With Me

Jasper misses his master like crazy whenever he is gone but he sure does love being able to sleep in my bed with me! Bella isn't a fan of sharing the bed with him....but too bad, I LOVE having Jasper up on the bed with me!!!

They Know When I'm Leaving For Work

These dogs always make me laugh. They know when I'm about to leave for work and find their nap spots. This is Leah and Jaspers favorite nap spots right now.  Bella has already buried herself under Ty's bed. She has even dragged some blankets under the bed to make her own bed!

Perfect Foot Rest

Jasper makes a perfect foot rest! He's such a good dog!

You Want Me To Move?

Jasper always gives me these sad faces when i ask him to move.....he can REALLY lay on the guilt trip! This time, as usual it worked and so i crawled in on the other side of the bed.  Jasper is always soooo excited to sleep with me when his master is gone! He loves Ed but he also REALLY loves to sleep with me when Ed is gone!!!  He eventually moved the middle of the bed laying all the way across so i had to sleep at somewhat of a diagonal too.  Bella happily slept on Ed's pillow. 

Ease On Up

I was sitting down for a minute and Jasper just very slowly eased himself up on the couch....he acted like he didn't think I would notice!

Everyone Is Jaspers Pillow

If you lay down on the floor, Jasper just automatically thinks you are there just for him, his own personal pillow! We have accepted this.

Ty & Two Dogs Sitting On The Floor

This was just too cute! Both big dogs sitting with Ty...i got a quick picture, and it always has to be quick with my people! Hands fly up to cover their faces at lightning speed, well even faster than lightening! But i think Ty was just too tired and wow, both dogs are even looking at me!
