You Want Me To Move?

Jasper always gives me these sad faces when i ask him to move.....he can REALLY lay on the guilt trip! This time, as usual it worked and so i crawled in on the other side of the bed.  Jasper is always soooo excited to sleep with me when his master is gone! He loves Ed but he also REALLY loves to sleep with me when Ed is gone!!!  He eventually moved the middle of the bed laying all the way across so i had to sleep at somewhat of a diagonal too.  Bella happily slept on Ed's pillow. 

Goodmorning From Jasper

The Dude In Cammies had to leave for work at 5 something....I fell back asleep....I woke up to Jasper barking in my face and than him pinning me down trying to kiss my face! he is a crack up! I was cracking up at his persistence! Later when The Dude In Cammies got home I was folding clothes and Jasper cuddled up with him. That dog is such a baby! I think the shots The Dude In Cammies had yesterday are kicking in.....they took a nap together.....he sure loves his dog!!! 

Stinky Shoe Love

I'm guessing he is either reminiscing in the smells I brought back from our walk this morning, or he wants me to take him for another cardio, or he just likes the smell of my stinky feet!!! 

First Night Without Him, Again

You would think Jasper would be used to this by now...but he isn't....he is the biggest cry baby every time The Dude in Cammies leaves! Even when it is just a few nights on a field op! Jasper does the same thing EVERY time his best friend doesn't come home. He curls up as small as he can get on Ed's side of the bed on Ed's pillow and whimpers.....it's just pathetic.....I should be the one crying!!!  But, nooooooooo, it's the dog crying and me hugging him telling him everything will be alright!!! I'm the one that should be getting the hugs and being told it will be alright.....nope! Jasper gets all the lovin's and attention on lonely night one....atleast he is cute and soft and smells good! 

Last Night On The Bed

I told Jasper to enjoy tonight, as it will be his last night on the bed.  He looks to be a little sad....but i told him he will be sleeping with me again in about 9 weeks.....

Am I.......... Acclimated?

The last couple of months have been freezing! O-kay, not freezing to my friends in colder climates, but running in the mornings in 19 degree weather is just a little too cold for me, but I have a dog that needs to run, soooo, I bundle up and we do anywhere from 3 to 7 miles. Today when I got out of the jeep it was 30 degrees!!! Bright sun, no clouds, AND I didn’t have to wear these!!!


My beanie, scarf and gloves!!! It was wonderful! We did 5 miles and I even broke a sweat!!

3 Baseballs & A Cool Dog

I just love Jasper! He can drive me crazy at times and requires lots of care and attention, however, i do think he is my favorite kid. I'm sure that is primarily because i get to lock him up when i leave the house. He really is just the sweetest dog and is my total buddy in the land of nothing. I have no friends, well I have friends, just nobody closer than 45 minutes and I am okay with that. This isn’t a complaining post, I really am fine with my only friend being a dog and a partial friend in my snooty cat. Most of my time revolves around the kids but the school hours revolve around Jasper. Jasper and I run the trail every morning. I know everyone’s schedule pretty much that uses the trail so I can get there at a time where Jasper and I have it all to ourselves. It’s wonderful because this way he can be off his leash and run free! He is the sniffer and loves to follow his nose! It’s hard for him to do this on a leash as I have no desire to leave the trail or go into the water, or more like swamp….I am scared every time he disappears into the dense shrubs or jumps in the water! I worry about him being bitten by snakes or coming out with an alligator chasing him. I’m sure he could outrun the alligator, however, I am positive I will not be able to! Aside from my fears we have a great time running every morning. There are 2 dogs that get to the trail most mornings about the time we are done. They are Jasper’s girls, Jessie a lab and dalmation mix and Bailey who is on the husky side. Jasper loves Jessie, Jessie likes Jasper and Bailey LOVES Jasper!! On certain parts of the trail all three dogs will be off their leashes and they are soooo cute to watch! Jessie is such a sweetheart and Bailey loves to run side by side with Jasper growling at him and swishing her big fluffy tail in his face if he isn’t paying enough attention to her! One day we were walking along and Jasper dove into the bushes and disappeared. We heard all kinds of rustling of branches cracking and leaves shaking. Jasper appeared out of nowhere and dropped a baseball at Jessie’s feet. We all went, “awwwwww”. Jessie walked happily with her gift in her mouth. A few minutes later Jasper disappeared again into the shrubs. Same sound effects as before and presto Jasper appears and drops a baseball at Bailey’s feet. Bailey is thrilled and is walking with her ball in her mouth and again we say “awwwwwwwww” followed by “wow!!!” Believe it or not, Jasper now jumps into the thickery of the shrubs a third time. Same commotion, and like, wow, he comes out with a baseball in HIS mouth!!! Is he the coolest dog or what?! If I was a dog, I would soooo want Jasper to be my boyfriend! But, instead I’m happy to have him as my buddy. I wake up to him in my face in the morning and fall asleep with him trying to take most of my pillow every night.

Safe!

I'm a klutz, plain and simple. There is nothing graceful about me. Once again, i went down. I was running Jasper on the trail. I saw someone coming towards us as we were almost back at the beginning of the trail. I called Jasper and clipped his leash back on. I usually have the trail to myself and so I am able to let Jasper run free for most of our run. I do 3 miles he does about 4 with all of his back and forths. We were almost up to the guy when Jasper does his little lunge forward. I pull him back, he fights it, whips around, and i go flying. Literally. The grass is high and really wet. With the speed he was pulling me i got off the ground and did some good sliding. If i was playing baseball and running home, it would have been spectacular to watch, but instead i ended up at this guys feet as he was putting in his headphones with grass in my mouth. But if it was a baseball game, i would have been safe!!!

I Can Only Hope....

I have an overactive imagination....i think i have always had this condition....I take Jasper for a run every morning on this trail that is really close to our house. I love it, but i am usually almost always the only one there running at that time in the morning. So, certain areas by the back woody area i run extra fast 'cause i've just seen too many CSI's and shows like that. LOL The other day there was this little old lady walking and Jasper wanted to eat her. I can only hope that he will be as ferocious to the creepy guy coming out of the woods in a hockey mask and a chain saw as he was to the little old lady on her morning walk!

Almost Ate A Spider!

I run my dog Jasper every day on this trail about a half mile from my house. I wish i had someone like the hulk and some super tall basketball player to run the trail first for me, but since i don't, i am at the mercy of where Jasper drags me and how fast i can react and dodge what is on the trail! Fortunately i came to a screeching halt before i almost ate this ugly fellow! Thank goodness Jasper decided it was time to drop some logs and so my nose came to a stop at about an inch away from leggy! I backed away very slowly but could only go so far since i run Jasper on a short leash, so i got to actually look at this creature. I couldn't stop laughing after he came into full view to my eyeballs! Looking at his belly, i could actually pretend to see a face, if you look at him he looks like he is standing there with his hands in the air and all upset looking! Well, i guess i would be upset if someone was taking a poo in front of my house! Do you see the yellow eyes, the little white gopher teeth, and silly mush mash?! I do and i couldn't stop laughing. Had to take a picture too!
