I Am 46 Today

WOW!!! I am 46 years old today!!!  It has been quite the week!!! We are packing out of our house, my best friend has been gone for about a year and a half now and I had a fake miscarriage.....it has been quite the week! Atleast now I know why all my pants are sooo frickin' tight!!! Relieved I am NOT pregnant and now just hoping I can drive across country without any complications!!!! I guess I was noy going thru metaphause the last couple of months and The Dude In Cammies vasectomy is still holding. Just me getting older and my eggs not really sure what to do and probably one just stuck around and started doing its thing without anything else and than decided since there wasn't anything else coming to finally detach and flush out. That was a mess yesterday in the middle of packing out. Still feel horrible but relieved today and a little easier to smile with the relief that I am NOT pregnant!!! LOL Now to just hopefully start fitting into my pants in the near future!!! I'm down to only 3 pair that still button!!! Happy Birthday To Me!!! The kids chose Mike's Farm. Nothing really tastes good right now, but it was fun being with my kiddos and out of the house for a bit.....

Aqua Spin With Ryan

Ryan came to Aqua Spin with me today. he likes this class. he came with me all the time last summer! Bronwyns daughter, Elizabeth, came with her today, so we dubbed it 'Bring Your Youngest To Spin Class' day. We had a fun work out!

Dogs Bracing For First Hurricane

The rain stopped suddenly around 8 so I had the dogs go outside while it was nice out. I went outside with them so they would stay outside longer, we had fun playing soccer and taking pictures. I didn't notice any of them going potty though!!! Hopefully they did while I wasn't looking! 

When Arthur made land fall Jasper and Bella wanted to cuddle up with me. So we watched TV to ignore all the noise going on outside.

Patriotic Toes

Mine and Vicki's toes were in desperate need of a pedicure. We decided to go today before Hurricane Arthur hit. I managed to survive. My feet are super ticklish so it is kinda torturous for me but my feet needed this done big time! I managed not to kick the guy and now I have cute toes! Vicki and I left with nautical patriotic toes! While we were getting out toes done our area went into a State of Emergency, things were shutting down and so Vicki's recruiter came into the nail salon to get the rest of the signatuures he needed from me. The paperwork The Dude in Cammies had sent from Wyoming with his signiture for Vix to go into the Army underage had come in and so the Recruiter wanted to get all the paperwork in before the 4th of July long weekend holiday and before they closed down the recruiting office since they were closing early to get everyone home to have time to secure their homes before Arthur hit later tonight. Now that was one LONG sentance!!! So, paperwork got submitted and our toes turned out pretty darn cute!!!

Summer Shots!

July 2 Today is Shot Day! The boys each need one shot. The third shot in a series. Than they are free until they turn 16! Neither of them wanted to go but I told them we could go to Panda Express after for lunch. Shots didn't sound quite so bad after that incentive! Those boys LOVE orange chicken!!!!

Ryan was the complete opposite!!! Yep, I still have to hold Ryan's hand as well as hold him down for shots! He is terrified of sharp needles! I asked him if he would rather have dull needles and he said YES!!!! Needless to say, we stuck with the sharp needle....I tried to get him to keep his eyes closed....he was a stubborn fighter but the shot got done with only a couple tears escaping!

Lucky for them they had their electronics to entertain themselves with while we waited for their shot books to get entered into the computer system!

 

Hurricane Warning

It is that time of year....Looks like Arthur wants to form and come for a visit! Hopefully just not during our 4th of July holiday!!!

Sad News

Thursday

I was picking up a couple things from SAMs Club when my Dad called. My Grandma Mary doesn't have much time left....she's been put into hospice. I know this will be a welcome relief for her and there will be a sweet reunion when she reaches the other side.....but I will miss not having her here on earth. I was hoping she would hang on long enough for me to see her if the house rents and the kids and I drive out to California. I'm glad Vicki and Ed saw her in January right after her 100th birthday when they drove to Barstow. Her memory has been gone for years and lately her body has been continually slowing down.....she has lived for an entire century, so i guess that happens....She has been the most awesome grandma! I have just totally wonderful memories with her that I will never ever forget. I do hope and pray that she can leave this life peacefully and without pain...the part about growing older that really sucks is your favorite people start slowing down and leaving planet earth....

Football Camp

Ty has started conditioning for football season. Football Camp was first on the agenda. He was able to work with players from ECU fine tuning the basics and learning some new things. He totally loved it! He LOVES football!!!

Aqua Spin With Friends

Aqua Spin was extra fun today with my work friends! It was a little LHS get together! These classes are during the day and so those of us, like my friends pictured here, who work in the schools don't get to go to these classes until school breaks! Bummer there are no evening or weekend aquaspin classes!

It's A Hypothesis....

Ryan and i went out for a frozen yogurt. While he was eating i noticed the shirt he was wearing was getting small on him. It is one of his favorite shirts and i remembered when it was actually too big on him! Now i could see the bones of his shoulders at the seams, the seams that no longer were lower than his shoulders!!
I said, "Ryan you have been growing! That shirt is getting too small on you. What have you been doing to grow?!!!
Ryan continued shoveling in his frozen yogurt and just kind of looked over at me. In between bites he nonchalantly said this...."If you scream at grass it will grow. Vicki is always yelling at me, so I'm growing.....(long pause) It's a hypothesis Mom. And he just continued eating his frozen yogurt while i almost choked on mine cracking up! He is sooo funny! I love these times just chit chatting with him.  

Sneak Peak: Transformers Age Of Extinction

The base was having a sneak peak of the new Transformers movie tonight. 

Malificant was showing at 3:30 so the boys went and saw that while I sat in my chair and read my book.  The boys said Maieficant was really good! I can't wait to see it!!!

A storm was rolling in when the boys had gotten out of the afternoon movie. The clouds got really dark and soon the thunder started booming. It was LOUD!!! The lightening was really close so the theater opened up early and started letting everyone in because it was getting dangerous with the lightening! I was the first person in line so we got in and bought our stuff at the consession stand and were seated in our favorite seats right away. Others weren't so lucky. I guess when it started raining it was pouring bucket fulls of water! People were soaking wet! In the bathroom people had their shirts off and were ringing them out over the sinks! I'm glad i missed Malificent and was Super Mom and sat in my chair reading instead!!!  

But Transformeers was really good! I was wondering if it was going to be like the last one, just repeat with a different location......but it was really good!!! The boys totally loved it!

Is Anyone Else Freaking Out?

Did anyone else freak out just a bit when Bowe Bergdahl's dad started talking in the language of the Taliban?!!!!  I think we have all heard those lines enough to know that he was basically um I’m not sure exactly if he was claiming the White House in the name of Allah or sanctifying it or exactly what but I am actually horrified that the President of our country let ANYONE use the language of the TALIBAN on the White House grounds!!! I can’t believe our Secret Service didn’t tackle him when he began uttering those phrases!!! Was anyone listening or has his entire detail switched allegiances?!!! I thought anything being spoken thru the White House had to be cleared ahead of time?!!! I will officially lose it if this President thinks he is coming home with this traitor after the D-Day Remembrances as some sort of Victory lap and think the American people are going to throw a parade of celebration or something! I don’t think I can stomach him mixing those two together…..what terrifies me even more is a huge sector of our population doesn't even know that anything horrific has just happened in our country!!! 

Beach Day With Oki Peeps!

You know how there are some people that you just mesh with...you meet and everyone just gets along and it is just fun and no trying to impress or anything. Just being yourself and having a good time? That was the Adolpho's who lived across from us when we lived on the island of Okinawa. They are in most of our pictures and almost all of our memories. My kids grew up with Adolpho kids for 5 years. They saw them daily except for when one of us were off the island, and somehow we even managed to run into each other when we were off the island and have spend time together on two other islands while hopping back to our home island of Okinawa! we were on Hawaii and Guam together and the kids have flown in a C-5 together! How many neighborhood kids have those kind of memories together?!!!  It was literally like we had never been apart!

Abby their deaf dog learned how to swim today....it was so cute to watch her as she figured out what to do! In the end she figured it out and i think she even liked it! Not enough to go charging into the ocean but enough that i think she thought it was a fun thing to check off her on her dogie bucket list!

Vicki thought she was just going to sit and get some sun....nope, Ajaye picked her up and threw her in the water! No special treatment for being a girl, she has always been like a sister/cousin to him so it was full fledged pick up and throw in! Later he threw plenty of wet sand on her. Definitely just like old times!

Yep, these kids haven't missed a beat! They had a blast playing in the waves, burying Byron in the sand, throwing each other in the water.....it was like they had been playing with each other on the beaches their whole lives and hadn't taken a 6 year hiatus due to the military sending their Dads to different duty stations!

Cinco De Mayo

It is Cinco De Mayo and i made our traditional mexican food feast.....there is nothing else to say here....except that Ty doesn't like Mexican food so he had sanwiches and a bowl of cereal!

8th Grade Formal

Ty originally was not going to go to his 8th Grade Formal. First girls were arguing over who was going to ask him or who he was going to ask. He said he wasn't going to ask anyone. Than the drama, as he says strated with diferent girls arguing over who was going to ask him.  He finally said he wasn't going to go as it was just too much drama. Girls were upset and there were even some tears, so he said he would go, just not with anyone. That seemed to queltch the drama and things quieted down. He insisted on choosing what he was going to wear even after Vicki and i picked out a much better 'outfit'.  I dropped him off, he did NOT want me out on the schools front lawn like the other parents taking pictures. I couldn't blame him. It was quite the spectacle with kids together like it was prom!  Ugh! Why are parents in such a rush to put their children in these super low cut dresses and pair them off with a boy.....? I just don't get it......ad than wonder why there are so many teen pregnancies and STD's....Ugh! I watched Ty walk in with some guy friends. I picked him up 2 hours later. He said, "hurry up and leave! We can't get out of here fast enough!" He told me how he sat at a table with friends and just talked and danced a few dances and that he does NOT like to slow dance at ALL but he did to make the one girl that actually cried when he said he wasn't going to go happy. Ty is a really nice guy......someday some girl is goign to be really lucky.....but not for many, MANY somedays!!!! 

 

Lunch On The Docks

I can't believe my luck! My day ended early again!!! I wasn't hungry at lunch time so when i left work i took my lunch to my favorite spot and ate while i read my book! Life is good! I took some pictures for The Dude in Cammies too. I think the strawberry one will make him laugh! I will probably play with it with my black and white app and have some fun with it :)

LOVED spending some time at one of my favorite places! I am always surprised that nobody is ever there.....i kinda wish someone would be there than i wouldn't always have this fear of an alligator coming for me!!! Or a shark jumping out of the water and grabbing my foot and pulling me in!!! I guess it is only half way relaxing because of my mind always going crazy of horrible ways I'm going to die out there..... 

Vix Is Taking Over My Cardio!

Vicki has discovered that cutting the grass is an awesome work out!!! She has taken over my cardio!!! Maybe i will get it back when we get into the triple digits, but for now she has highjacked it from me....
