Ginger Mummies

Ed wanted to make Halloween cookies so he was in charge of activity and dessert for Family Home Evening tonight. We had fun decorating our gingerbread men. I think he was the only one that LIKED eating them though! So the rest of us had ice cream sundaes!!!!

We Found Ice Cream!!!

We found an ice cream place!!! Wait! Let me re-phrase that!!! There are lots of places with ice cream but we found a place with REALLY yummy ice cream and shakes the way Vicki likes them!!!

Vanilla shake with sprinkles!!!!

I got a mini brownie concrete and couldn't even finish half of it! I felt like I had already eaten a couple brownies at the half way mark! Ed finished it for me. It was delicious!!!! Our new favorite ice cream place in the desert!!!! Well, actually frozen custard place!!!!

Lunch At Ruby's!

Wow!!! It has been a VERY, VERY LONG TIME since we walked the pier to eat at Ruby's!!!! When we first moved into our Parker House on Camp Pendleton and would walk the pier we were just a poor Lance Corporal family making basically nothing. We just thought Ruby's was an expensive restaurant and we never dared even open the door! One day as a Corporal family I guess we were feeling a little braver and opened the door. We were just going to look at the menu.....WELL!!!!! When we looked inside we gasped and started cracking up!!!! It was a 50's Diner!!!! Yeah, we ate there, lots of times! The first place I ever heard of a chocolate coke! It was delicious!!!

I made a yummy jello dish yesterday. Today I added berries to it. Totally delicious!!!

Champaign Cake For Dinner

I tried a new recipe for Champaign Cake today. It took a couple hours and when I was finished it felt like the cake weighed like 10 pounds!!! The boys and I thought we would have dessert first. Well, it was sooo rich that when we finished we were too full for dinner! Wow, it was really good!!!

I wish I could make it like the ones at the California Bakery!!! They are soo pretty with all the shaved pink chocolate!!!

Not The Breakfast Of Champions

Wow!! Have not had Cap'n Crunch in a LONG time!!! Yep, still yummy :) Nope, not the breakfast of champions but definitely a fun Summer Saturday morning breakfast! I think I will have some pineapple and cherries too.....have something a little healthy to start my Saturday off!!!

Late Night Snack

I had cucumber rolls for dinner tonight. I was hungry by 11 pm so I had a yummy late night dinner!  The dogs thought I should share, I didn't!!!!

Hurricane Dinner

Vicki and I decided on Japanese food for our Hurricane Dinner. We went to a place I've never been before. We picked a variety of yummy foods and they even had cucumber rolls!!! Now it feels like a typhoon kinda night! The food was delicious!!!!

Peach Sweet Tea Yogurt

Tried another one of those new yogurts. Yep, it was good! Quite peachy and sooo yummy!!!

Hot Day Cool Night Treat

Ryan was my buddy all afternoon today. On our way home tonight we stopped at Peach Tree and got ourselves some yummy frozen yogurt. It was a hot day today!

He's such a cute kid!!! Just love him! He always has the funniest things to say! Ryan has this crazy mind that just takes things in and than sends them back out in just the funniest of ways.

Out Of Strawberries....

I discovered I was out of strawberries and couldn't make my normal afternoon salad! Sooo, I decided to improvise with some other berries that I DID have!!! It was pretty good! I prefer strawberries, but this was good too! Than I had a piece of pumpkin pie to balance it all out!

Yummy Colorful Cake

I finally made this cake Vix has been wanting me to make. Yep, too much butter, too many eggs....it was delicious! After just a couple bites I was feeling quite full of cake, but I ate it all, every last bite!!!!  YUM! On a side note.....i bought some really fun plates from Thailand.....they each had a different chick dressed all fun carrying dessert. I bought a LOT of these plates and whenever one of my friends would have a birthday i would bake a cake and take her over a giant piece on her own Birthday Plate. I have a few left and whenever i eat off of one it brings back fun memories of taking cake over to differnt super fun friends from Okinawa!

 

Favorite Summer Lunch

This has been my favorite summer lunch so far....just throw some salad in a bowl, slice up some strawberries, than add some sunflower seeds, sliced almonds, dried cranberries, sometimes I put some chicken on top and than of course top it off with my berry salad dressing! Yum! I think I will buy some cashews.....those would be good on it too!

New Yogurts To Try....

I bought 3 new flavors of yogurt to try. i tried this one first today for breakfast, Total Yum!!! It will be great in breakfast drinks too with all those chocolate flakes in it, but at 190 calories it will have to be one of those breakfast drinks that carries over into lunch too!!!

Last Lunch In Middle School For Ty

 

I had to go pay the boys final lunch bills. They both owed a couple dollars and so i decided to just zip in the last day of school since i was already off and pay rather than trying to guess the amount. before it didn't matter, i just over paid so they were set when school started but i am not sure if we will be here when school started so i didn't over pay the last time i sent them with checks to school i just kinds guesstimated what it might be and i was just a couple dollars off on the two of them! I took a picture of the menu board so Ty could remember FOREVER what he had on his last day of Middle School for lunch! Somethings you want to remember forever, RIGHT?!!! Later he saw this picture in our photo stream and was like, "Mom!!! Why do you have a picture of our lunch menu in your phone?!!!" I told him he might want to know what he had on his last day of Middle School someday. He shook his head know while laughing and said, "Mom, why would i want to remember the worst food EVER?!!!" Than he and Ryan started telling me all kinds of horror stories about the cafeteria food!!!! Certain dishes ALWAYS had a a hair in it no matter what....unidentified stuff that did NOT like food and on and on. I was pretty sick after all that!!!

Taco Rice

Taco Rice for dinner! A favorite of mine and Vicki's! We discovered in while living on Okinawa at The Gobe and Anchor, affectionaltly called The Hook and Jab by The Dude In Cammies. That was the first time i officially had Taco Rice. Taco bell even had Taco Rice on Okinawa!!! I wish they sold it here at Taco Bell! It is one of my favorite meals!!!

Cinco De Mayo

It is Cinco De Mayo and i made our traditional mexican food feast.....there is nothing else to say here....except that Ty doesn't like Mexican food so he had sanwiches and a bowl of cereal!

Watermelon Oreo's?!!!

Vicki and i were runnin errands tonight and we stumbled on lemon oreos which we had been looking for when The Dude in Cammies was visiting and than we found watermelon oreos too! Lemon good, watermelon, ewwww!!!!!
