Dodger Game Tonight

Its Dodger Night!!! Ty and Ryan have away games tonight so it is just Ed and I tonight with Wendy, Rick and gang. Its always beautiful coming back into civilization and i just LOVE palm trees! Definitely my happy tree!!!  It was Frank Sinatra night so the music was obviously Frank Sinatra. Ed twirled me a couple times during one of the songs while we were walking around before the game. Later up in the suite he was singing Frank Sinatra to cute little Noelle. It was a fun night!
I told Ed we should get one of these 'K' balls for our forever home!
Walking up to the stadium from our car....
Ed was very happy to get down to the field level. This is his love...i will try to not be jealous...
Having fun before the game walking around.....
Sooooo much yummy food! Crackers, cheese, fruits, veggies, fajitas, crab cakes, Dodger Dogs, and pulled pork sandwiches!
Chips and dip, drinks....it was just endless food! I made myself a perfect Dodger Dog! The grody shrimp on my plate were for Ed. Desert was a mocha chocolate cake that was the best cake i have EVER had!
The suite was really nice! The boys would have loved the pool table! Ed and T were texting back and forth. T loves the Dodgers so Ed was having fun sending him pictures.
Little Noelle loves her Uncle Eddie and was by far the cutest Dodgers fan at the game!
Now these are perfect chairs for watching the game from!!!
It was Frank Sinatra night tonight and we even had some of his original chairs in our suite,
We saw this while we were walking around. We sent the picture to Jorden. Josh was like his favorite baseball player way back when he still lived at home!
Noelle had fun watching the game with her Uncle Eddie

We got a quick picture of Nolan. He was nonstop having fun with his friends.

Throwing Out Opening Pitch

Ed was selected to throw out the Opening Pitch at the Desert Mavericks Military Appreciation Game. They are the farm team for the Texas Rangers. He's a baseball player and always was the pitcher so it was a piece of cake for him. I told him he might want to do a practice throw at the field on our base wearing his uniform so he could see what might go bing, sling, snap, pop before hand. Ya just never know on those buttons, ribbons, shirt stays and his cover!!! But he didn't and all went well. His ball even went perfectly into the catchers glove without the catcher having to move! All that was lost was a star off of a ribbon! I think he enjoyed it.....

Throw Back Thursday 4-3-14

The Dude in Cammies is at a baseball game tonight with a bunch of Marines.....soooooo, i thought this would be a fun Throw Back Thursday for him.....
This was Ty's first year of baseball, it was First Steps, where the kids would play but always had to have a parent with them to shadow them at every position. Ryan wasn't old enough, but he was able to be out in the outfield and pretend to be shadowing Ty as well. It was so cute because Ryan would copy everything Ed would tell Ty to do. Ed coached Jorden's team with some of his buddies from the Hemet Police Department and Sandie and i were the team Mom's. It was a really fun season. Jorden's 2 best friends were Sandies boys and they were on the team and her husband, Jim is the police officer holding the banner with Ed. They were good friends of ours when we were stationed at Pendleton and lived in Hemet. Some fun baseball memories.

Spring Training

I saved the best for last as far as all the things I had planned for our anniversary. Every year all the professional Japanese and Korean teams come to warm Okinawa for their pre season training, or like Spring Training stateside. I found out where all the teams were practicing and took Ed to watch the Dragons at the Chatan ball park. It was fun and he seemed to really enjoy it. We’re going to one of the preseason games in a few weeks. It was fun to watch. I had to keep asking Ed dumb questions ‘cause it has been a LONG time since I’ve been to a game in America and I wasn’t sure if what the Okinawan’s did was what we did. Here is one example. When a homerun is hit the crowd claps, I believe I was the only one that hollered out in the stadium, oops, then everyone stops clapping, not because I hollered, just because it was time to stop and then they begin to clap when the batter has run across home plate. I had to ask Ed if we clapped both times in the States, ‘cause I just didn’t remember that. The Japanese also do absolutely NO butt grabbing! No matter how good the play was or the runner coming in to score, no behinds are slapped! I loved watching the fans! They had their bowls of noodles, brought their dogs, and the younger kids were there in their baseball uniforms. You could see the sparkle in their eyes as they knew their dreams of being a ball player were still tangible! All the newscasters were there and it was sooo cute to see the young kids with their gloves and pen and paper for autographs! I didn’t think to bring anything for autographs and Ed didn’t want any anyways, even after I bought a ball! But he did take a picture of me with one of the players. We were walking around later and #45 was just sitting out there on a bike, not a motorcycle, a bicycle! Only in Okinawa…..We watched them play each other and then do batting and infield practice and headed home. Oh, we did buy hot dogs, cause what is a baseball game without a hot dog??!!
