Searching For Pumpkin

I swear! Sometimes I think grocery stores have a secret meeting every year to decide where to put the canned pumpkin! I searched and searched and couldn't find it anywhere!!! Finally decided to go where I thought it might be and see if there were any empty shelf areas. Yep, right where I thought it should be....just none in stock! :(

Raining In The Field

Sept 20th
Wow! This is the first rain fall we've had since we moved here in June! It actually rained for like 4 hours!!! But of course it would rain, The Dude In Cammies is sleeping out in the field this week!!! Haha

Our First 3/5 Stork Arrival

Venus and I got to welcome in our first 3/5 baby!!! So fun to visit one of our wives and her Marine with their beautiful itty bitty!!! A part of me is trying to figure out how I got here to visiting the new moms in The Dude In Cammies battalion!!! It seems like yesterday I was having babies and the Sgt Maj's wife was seeing me!!! YIKES!!! I am officially old!!! But totally fun visiting with one of our wives and her cute little family!

The Pier Cats

Every morning while I do my morning cardio at the pier I see this sweet husband and wife feeding the cats that live under the pier. It is so fun to watch this couple arrive and call the kitties. They scamper out and begin rubbing against their legs. This sweet couple fill up water dishes and make each cat their own plate of food. I take a few pictures every couple of days as I do my stair sets. The cats actually make eye contact with me now and aren't afraid of me anymore. I know where they live and maybe someday they will let me pet them....

This Kid Keeps Growing!

Ryan had a JROTC event today at his school. Afterwards he and his dad were talking and I realized Ryan might be taller than his dad after next deployment! That kid gets taller every time I turn around!

Blue Skies & Bird Prints

Just another beautiful cardio morning by the sea! I prefer the blue skies over the gloomy skies!!! It's in the chilly 50's this morning and I actually wore a hoodie for the first time!


Summer is rapidly fading....there were only bird prints with my footprints this morning. During tourist season there are all sorts of footprints at this time of morning! But today, just mine and a birds!

Sleeves Rolled & Ready

Ed and Ryan have their sleeves rolled and uniforms ready for another week. Ryan wears jungle cammies all year long. Ed is still in deserts for about another month and than they will match for half the year! Yep, just another Sunday evening at our house.....

Riding Down Memory Lane, Literally!

Soooo many memories while I was riding my bike thru Balboa Park! I remember Jorden and I coming down here when my job transferred me to Hemet. We spent about one Saturday a month just walking all over. He loved following the trails and I just followed him! A few years later Vicki and I were coming here almost every Tuesday when we moved to the Parker house on Pendleton in 1997. Jorden was in school so Vicki and I would zip down to Balboa Park and I would just follow her thru whatever were the free museums that Tuesday. She would have soooo much fun picking where we went and which way we turned or where we stopped. Later when we moved to ASUSMC Miramar it was Ty and Ryan's turn to go to Balboa Park while Jorden and Vicki were at school! This is the building Vicki would have her jazz, tap, and ballet recitals at the three years we lived at the Bellatrix house on Miramar. Fun riding down memory lane today...time has a way of just escaping us....but so glad for all the good memories! I'm glad I was one of those moms who got to stay home with my kids and play every day with them! I would hate to be looking back at memories of working while someone else raised them!!! ❤️

An Extra Hour

I got out of my meeting an hour ahead of schedule this morning. I had another appointment down in San Diego so I decided to just head down there early. There was zero traffic so I ended up with 2 1// hours before my next appointment so I zipped over to Balboa Park which was just about 2 miles from where my appointment was. I rented a bike and went for a fun ride on the trails thru Balboa Park. After turning the bike in I walked some fun trails, gardens and than headed over to the lily pads for a bit. Every Tuesday there are free museums for military members and dependents so I zipped into a couple of those and than it was time to head to my appointment. I am always floored when people say they are bored or hate living here!!! There is always soooo much to do and you can't beat the weather!!!

Last Unofficial Day of Summer
