Tanks Food Dish...
I ain't gonna lie...I started crying first thing this morning after letting the big dogs out....than they came in and finished Tanks food....I couldn't part with his food dishes, so I washed them and packed them in the car with me....they were supposed to go in the kids suitcases since he was slated to fly to our next Duty Station today.....
Bella Bolted
One of the packers left the door going out to the garage open. The big garage door was open....I was able to grab Leah but Bella made it out the door. She bolted! I tried to catch her but failed. Ty finally caught her, thank goodness!!! The little girl was running all over the place like crazy! She was all tuckered out later.
3 Ferrets & 1 Hedge Hog Kinda Night
I had to swing by a friends house tonight. Totally got side tracked with these fun lil critters!!! They were all sooo cute and sooo much fun!!! I had never held a Hedge Hog before. What a unique creature.
Strawberry Lemonade Pie
Fake Birthday Pie for Vicki! We sang a fake birthday song to Vicki and had a yummy pie! We will celebrate for real when Ed gets home!
First Real Cooked Dinner
Finally have the kitchen in order and groceries stocked up to cook our first real dinner in our home this duty station!!! Too bad The Dude In Cammies left this morning!!!!

Lunch At Ruby's!
Wow!!! It has been a VERY, VERY LONG TIME since we walked the pier to eat at Ruby's!!!! When we first moved into our Parker House on Camp Pendleton and would walk the pier we were just a poor Lance Corporal family making basically nothing. We just thought Ruby's was an expensive restaurant and we never dared even open the door! One day as a Corporal family I guess we were feeling a little braver and opened the door. We were just going to look at the menu.....WELL!!!!! When we looked inside we gasped and started cracking up!!!! It was a 50's Diner!!!! Yeah, we ate there, lots of times! The first place I ever heard of a chocolate coke! It was delicious!!!
Yesterday ooops, I mean yesterYEARS.......Spring 1999...
Today.......
Dry Cleaners From Years Ago...
It was just like wow to be driving down these streets of Oceanside today.....these were the streets we were on regularly, atleast once a week and usually more often than that between the hair cuts, picking up dry cleaning, and just zipping around as young Marines and their families do......It was just quite a unique feeling to see my now much older Marine carrying one of his uniforms into one of the dry cleaners he used to go to with a child we hadn't even thought about yet following right behind him.....yes, it was a look back and smile kinda moment, and I ain't gonna lie, my smile also had some misty eyes too.....but I wear great big sunglasses so nobody noticed.....but wow.....it seems like yesterday that cammies were dry cleaned.....and we as well as all Marines were always on these little side streets at the many dry cleaners dropping off and picking up cammies....endless cammies....it was one of my 'W" jobs. I hadn't earned my I or F yet, still waiting on my E!!!! Back in the day the wife's ID card had a W on it and The Dude In Cammies lovingly referred to me as the "W" Gosh......seems like yesterday and a life time ago all smooshed together......
Now The Old Hospital!
Ohhhhhh.......Navel Hospital Camp Pendleton.....I went there as a kid AND I had TWO children born there!!! Thing One & Thing Two (Ty and Ryan) were both born there and all 4 had numerous shots there, Jorden had a his physical for Kindergarten there, his sling for when he broke his collar bone there, I had my head stapled back together there.....ohhhhh the memories.......we also camped there at the camp grounds at Lake O'Neil right there by the hospital......sad to see that the hospital is no longer in use.....there is a much nicer one now right by the main gate going out to Oceanside, but this will always be a beautiful site to me.....
