He's Loading Up

It's that time again for The Dude in Cammies to head out......it seems like he just got home, but he didn't. He's been home for 65 days!!!  It has gone by SUPER fast!!! I'm not complaining, he was supposed to be leaving around December 10th and that would have only given us 21 days together, so 65 is awesome!!!  I'm just annoyed that nobody else has orders until April......Summer.....or none at all......we are the only ones expected to move 3 weeks after The Dude in Cammies returns from a one year combat tour living in a tent with the Afghan Army.....and in the middle of December...and we are the ONLY ones who do NOT live on base who can just pack up and leave with no worries of renting out a house to someone who can cover the mortgage......i just get annoyed with all the commercials about 'we care about our military families' that come from Marine Headquarters....no, you don't care when you take a Marine who has been away from his family for an entire year living in a tent advising the Afghan Army, leading over 100 combat operations and than expecting him to get back home, check out of 2 units and pack out in 21 days between Thanksgiving and Dec 15th......nope, can't even begin to convince me there is even a sliver of caring for the families, nope nope nope nope nope. I would prefer if they would just drop the fake crap and keep it real. Sooo, anyways, it was like pulling teeth to get his orders changed so he could report the end of January and sooo VERY happy for that.  I know we are still not cared about, never have been and never will be.... but glad the orders could be pushed back so he could get checked out of his TAD unit he went to Afghanistan with and checked out of the unit he has been with and get his move scheduled and spend some time with us before he left. We do not operate our expenses like the Government does so the family will more than likely stay behind while he goes to this next duty station. It does not make sense for us to borrow money to move.  It is easier for the Government to borrow money because they are not the ones paying the loan back.  We, on the other hand, are the ones who pay for our loans, so we are not going to borrow $50,000 so we can sell our house and move.....sooooo......his bags are packed......boots are laced.....favorite blankie in tow.....The Dude in Cammies is ready to go!
